White Cross Fire Department is always seeking new members to join.  The process is pretty simple.  There are a few requirements: You must live with in 1 mile of the White Cross Fire District, You must be at least 18 years of age and have a North Carolina Driver Licenses, You must have a certified copy of your criminal history from every county you lived in the last 5 years. The cost of this document is the responsibility of the applicant. It is usually around $15 a copy; you must fill out the NC DMV request for a driving record form.  Buy signing that form you give NC DMV permission to release your Driving record to the White Cross Fire Department.  The cost of this document is the responsibility of the applicant. It is $11 a copy. The Form is attached to the packet. Have an acceptable driving record; cannot be a convicted felon. We will review misdemeanors on case-by-case basis; It is recommend that you attended a few training session, so other members can meet you.  Meetings/Training are every Thursday night starting at 19:00 hours, expect for the first Thursday of every month and holidays; If you are applying for First responder only you must have a valid NC medical Responder certification or higher.
You can down load the forms from the web site or stop by the station and pick up the forms.

There is usually paid Staff at the fire station from 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday through Friday. Once the forms are filled out please bring the to station during the same hours as above. Thank you for your interest in the fire Department.
