Citizen Campaign

In effort to promote fire prevention with in the community, White Cross Fire Department offers free smoke detectors and children’s fire prevention materials to its citizens. They are available for pick up at the station Mon-Fri from 9am-3pm and on Thursday nights between 7pm-8pm. For more information please call (919) 942-1194.

Adult Safety Messages

Home safety starts with the parents. Deaths from fires and burns are the fifth most common cause of unintentional injury deaths in the United States (CDC 2005) and the third leading cause of fatal home injury (Runyan 2004). The United States mortality rate from fires ranks fourth among the 25 developed countries for which statistics are available (USFA 2007). [more info]

White Cross Fire Department Insurance Information

The White Cross Fire Department was awarded an ISO Rating Class of 7. It will take effect January 1st 2009. Contact your insurance company to see if the change reduces the cost of your home owner’s insurance. Attached is a map of the White Cross Fire District, use the map key to determine you location. The color reflects your distance from the fire station. If your home is with in 5 road miles your rating is a class 7. If your home is between 5-6 road miles your rating is a 9E.
